Reality is Invented
[ send me this paper ]
A 3-page essay in which the writer argues that reality is not discovered, but is rather invented. Human beings have always wondered about the true nature of reality. Everything that humanity perceives about the world is filtered through the senses and sensory data can be faulty or it may not jibe with someone else's perception of the same observed phenomenon. Reality is not fixed, certain, or discovered, but rather is invented by each culture, each society in each succeeding era. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Reporting Abuse And Duty To Protect/Warn: California & Arkansas
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. The prevalence of abuse throughout the United States is not restricted to any age group, gender or ethnicity; that abuse crosses all lines of demarcation speaks to an equal opportunity offense where verbal or physical harm often goes undetected when the victim is either unable or unwilling to report the abuse. For those in California and Arkansas who have suffered at the hands of an abuser but are either afraid or wholly incapable of saying so, laws exist so that others may step in and ultimately make the report in the victim's defense. Nowhere is this more important a legal intervention than when children are targets of abuse. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Reproductive Rights as Human Rights
[ send me this paper ]
This is an 18 page paper discussing reproductive rights as a human right. Reproductive rights represents a component of human rights as promoted by the international community in regards to the “right to health and family planning; the right to life, freedom, integrity and security; the right not to be assaulted or exploited sexually; the right not to be tortured or to be the object of cruel, inhuman, degrading punishment or treatment; the right not to be subject to sex-based discrimination; the right to privacy; the right to intimacy; and the right to enjoy scientific progress and the right to consent to be an object of experimentation”. These basic human rights extend to include reproductive rights in many different areas of concern. Firstly, the international community has promoted the concept of reproductive rights in order to provide education and support for family planning, contraceptive options and safe abortion and health care environment to people who desire these rights and are in need of these rights. These concerns are mainly to address the growing number of women who die on an annual basis from unsupervised or illegal abortions and also to promote contraception use in order to prevent unplanned pregnancies, the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS. Second, on the basis of equal human rights, family planning and reproductive rights extend to both men and women although quite often the focus is on the sexual exploitation of women. Finally, reproductive rights also extend to those who wish to have children and who may also use the human right to use the benefit of scientific progress to do so which includes the use of the reproductive technologies of in-vitro fertilization, donor insemination, and cloning if desired. Because reproductive rights are based on desire and basic human rights for the individual decision in regards to reproduction, population growth arguments do not provide a good basis for conflict as some countries use reproductive rights to control population growth, other countries use reproductive rights to promote population growth.

Bush, again, reiterated his endorsement of an Amendment to the Constitution to prohibit same-sex marriage. On the other side of the issue, many people argue that same-sex marriage does not portend the disastrous erosion to the foundations of civilization that conservatives fear. Examination of same-sex marriage, and the issues that surround this topic, is illuminating as to the these two radically opposed positions. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

Same-Sex Marriages
[ send me this paper ]
15 pages in length. Morality is a grand issue upon which lives are built and destroyed. Veering off course into immoral territory is just where marriages are headed when the wedded couple is of the same sex. The writer addresses various issues surrounding same-sex marriages, as well as takes the stand that they are not in the best interest of anyone involved in that reality. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
