Role Theory Phase Of Psychotherapy
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. Jacob L. Moreno's breakthrough application to the field of psychotherapy served as an instrumental force by emphasizing "engagement through active role play and dramatic dialogue as the major factors which lead to transformational change" (Casey, 2001, p. PG). This heretofore unprecedented method represents a joining together of several approaches that stand strong on their own merit; when combined, they create a synergistic force that uncovers certain patterns, emotions and conflicts wholly attributable to role theory. Moreno recognized the intrinsic association between and among every aspect of an individual's conscious and subconscious existence; asserting that a person must be treated from a holistic perspective, Moreno approached role play of psychodrama as an awareness that "allows for increased clarity in seeing the alternatives for changing life patterns" (Casey, 2001, p. PG). Bibliography lists 4 sources.
