Psychological Development In Adolescence
[ send me this paper ]
A 10 page paper discussing adolescence in general. By far, the teen years are not all doom and gloom unless people around the teen attempt to make them that way, but by the same token, adults have no reason to tell teens that life never improves. Finishing up with the hormone wash and gaining the life experience that enables the individual to truly know who he is are freeing in the end, but both processes alone can be devastating to the teen who has only limited adult support and the safety net of a loving and accepting family. Bibliography lists 16 sources.

Rationale for a Student Assistance Program
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page paper discussing the need for and
structuring of a Student Assistance Program (SAP) in the school setting. There are many and
varied programs available designed to help people of all ages deal with the stresses of life and
focusing specifically on drug and alcohol abuse. Though many such programs exist, a feature
common to most is that they are not well known in the communities they serve. Participation
commonly is in the form of a "sentence" imposed by some civil authority, and many individuals
already have lived most of their lives devoted to their specific addictions. Modeled on the
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) model, the SAP works to accomplish identification and
intervention much earlier, and on a voluntary basis in every case possible. Bibliography lists 6
sources.

Root Causes Of Recent School Shootings
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. School violence has long been an issue between cultural power play as much as it has been an issue of adolescent angst. Easy access to guns within the family unit is a primary instigator of juvenile violence against other juveniles, say some experts. Coupled with the surge of gang activity in recent years, these factors have greatly attributed to the degradation of childhood morals. Discord among students is a normal, daily event at all stages and types of educational institutions, but it is the manner by which such antagonism is addressed that serves to either mitigate or exacerbate the problem. Children and adolescents typically do not understand what it takes to successfully manage conflicts - either those inside one's head or externally within the student body - which is why the situation often gets out of hand before it is resolved. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Separation And Individuation: Case Study
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. The development of self deficits in terms of separation and individuation reaches its apex by age three, according to researcher Margaret Mahler's findings, a psychological point that relates directly to Gillian's inability to realize herself as an individual. The developmental period between three months and three years is critical to how a person ultimately deals with emotional situations in his or her future; in Gillian's case, Ms Smith sabotaged any normal development by imparting the exact same stringent and controlling demands she sought to escape from her own mother. Should Minors Those Under The Age Of Fifteen Be Allowed To Access Counseling Without Parental Consent?
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. No matter what age, people must have access to professional counseling in order to address whatever emotional issues stand between them and a vibrant, healthful life. Moreover, they are fully entitled to complete privacy when it comes to telling others that they are seeking counseling, leaving it up to the individual to divulge that information – or not. Those under the legal age of adulthood find it much more difficult to secure either of these choices due to the nature of minor laws and the legal accountability of such sessions without parental consent.
