Impacts to American Economy as a Result of the Iraqi War
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page overview of the two views regarding the economic impact our current war with Iraq will have on the American economy. Those who support the war often contend that it will positively impact the economy much like World War II was successful in bringing us out of the Great Depression. Those who contest the war contend that it will have a disastrous impact on our economy. The author of this paper points out the relative percentage of the gross domestic product (GDP) for this current war is impressively less than that for previous wars such as World War II, Vietnam and even the Persian Gulf War. Consequently the economic impact will be quite minimal. We are unlikely to either profit or suffer greatly as a result of our war with Iraq. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Individualism And The Bill Of Rights
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. The Bill of Rights absolved any concerns over the absence of natural rights, as well as solidified the union between democracy and liberty. In short, it established the duty of government to "guarantee certain basic liberties, to protect the autonomy and liberty of the individual" (Grant 37A). Based upon ten fundamental properties of said natural rights, the Bill of Rights forged an unprecedented victory for an even stronger constitutional government. Individualism is one of the most highly sought after and hotly debated of all amendments; without the ability to pursue free enterprise and other capitalistic aspects, the very tenets of a democratic society would cease to exist. However, critics argue that when it was first inscribed into the Bill of Rights, none of the constitutional framers could have guessed the extent to which the selfishness of individualism has gone so as to actually become a detriment to society. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

Industrialism And Liberalism In America: Repelling
Ideologies?
[ send me this paper ]
12 pages in length. The changing face of the United States throughout the industrial and post-industrial eras appears to have called into question some of the fundamental assumptions of traditional American liberal ideology. Clearly, one can readily surmise that such ideology has been transformed in response to the social and economic changes that have occurred since the late-nineteenth century. To what extent have the core assumptions of American liberalism continued to dominate American political culture? When one considers whether or not American liberalism has suffered irrevocably, it becomes clear that liberalism, in and of itself, was at least partly responsible for some of these changes.
