This has caused a great deal of concern within the justice system and there has been a significant number of debates over the viability and effectiveness of the present juvenile system. The objectives of the current system include: holding the juvenile offender accountable; enabling the juvenile to become a capable, productive, and responsible citizen; and ensuring the safety of the community. Among the treatment options available are: biological, or pharmaceutical; Cognitive-Behavioral/Social Learning method; relapse prevention (RP) and the Strength-Based Rehabilitation method.
