A. Phillip Randolph
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page research paper that looks at the career of this African American leader. Asa Philip Randolph (1889-1979) was the most significant civil rights leader to emerge from the labor movement (Stein, 1991). His name is not as well-known as that of Martin Luther King, however, Randolph was a principal motivator of his generation and a pioneer in obtaining rights for black Americans. His career as a political activist begins early in the twentieth century, decades before the civil rights movement and examination of his work suggests that his early successes in gaining rights for black Americans laid the necessary groundwork upon which 1960s civil rights movement was built. Africa and Profit From Slave Trade
[ send me this paper ]
A 4 page research paper that discusses whether or not the slave trade was economically beneficial for Africa. The Atlantic slave trade was ongoing for over three hundred and fifty years, profoundly affected the histories of four continents and “constituted history’s largest forced migration,” as over 12 million Africans were transported to various locations in Europe and the Americas (Clark 273). Some historians have argued that while the slave trade was morally wrong, it was economically beneficial to Africa. This examination of literature explores and analyses the validity of this assertion. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
